Family Centered Services of Alaska has an immediate opening for our Smart Start Learning Center Day Care Program with the position title of Learning Center Day Care Assistant Teacher

Earn a pay increase and a one time bonus of $1,000 through our CDA Credential Incentive Program! Assistant Teacher's pursuing a CDA credential will be promoted to Assistant Teacher II and receive a corresponding increase in pay.

Position: Learning Center Day Care ASSISTANT TEACHER I & II
Full Time Regular
Monday - Friday (Business hours 7am-6pm)
Summary of Assigned Task: The Learning Center Assistant Teacher will assist with daily program items, greeting parents and children, weekly lesson plans, implementing and participating in activities with the children, and continually maintaining a safe clean healthy learning environment for the children in care.
Qualifications:
Must currently live in the state of Alaska, our local area. All out of state candidates will not be considered.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have High school diploma or GED.
Must be able to pass both name and federal Background Check conducted with the Alaska Background Check program which shows a record that is free from criminal convictions, which in judgement for FCSA, would adversely affect their ability to work safely around children.
Must be of good character and reputation, have an understanding of the development of children and the ability to care for children, and the skill to work with children, family members, department staff, community agencies and staff of the child care facility.
Be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
Maintain infant/child CPR and First Aid. FCSA provides this training if not already certified.

The original founders of the organization were Fairbanks Alaska community members with a diverse range of professional backgrounds committed to helping children with a wide spectrum of behavioral health issues and mental illness. Today, FCSA is a large diverse organization with over 100 employees providing services in the Fairbanks area, Mat-Su Valley, and surrounding communities. FCSA provides services ranging from outpatient services, residential treatment care, educational support, and daytime child-care.
